SF in SF with Blake Charlton

Saturday night Blake and I trundled ourselves into San Francisco for the The SF in SF experience. No photographs have surfaced yet, and I forgot to pass out my camera, so I will instead detail what I wore. That's the most exciting part of any evening out, anyway. Isn't it?

So we arrived and schmoozed about for a little while. I was snatched away to be interviewed by Rick Kleffel of The Agony Column. After some rapid-fire questions (all I remember is that I was trying hard not to "um") we sat down at a table with microphones and the little theater filled up.

The host, Terry Bisson, introduce Blake and he did his reading. Then I did mine. After that we broke for a few minutes to consume nibbles (strawberries!) and Blake got kidnapped by Rick for an interview. Then we sat back down and Terry interviewed the two of us and opened it up to the audience. He was hilarious and Blake and I nit-picked-each other. It was a lot of fun.

There were signings and photo ops afterward. I must say I was favorably impressed with some enormously cute dresses and fantastic shoes wore by attendees! I know some of this was on my behalf and I must say I appreciated it immensely.

All in all everything went according to plan. People laughed when they were supposed to laugh, my mother criticized my British accent, and my best friend made me pose for an art piece she's working on in front of a painting of a bug carrying the accessories of a New Kingdom Egyptian pharaoh ~ crook, flail, ankh. (You kind of had to be there.)

Rick intends to drop a podcast recording of my interview, Blake's interview, the readings, and the Q&A session. I'll keep an eye on his feed and let you know with the links when they go live.

Smokin Hot Books says, "Changeless is a series you have to be in the right frame of mind to read. Take off your traditional romance style hat and done your ‘it’s okay to be different’ fedora complete with a saucy feather and matching parasol. This is a unique series that causes me to have slight bouts of obsessive online forum checking because I love it so much."
Out September 1, 2010! Even bigger SPOILER ALERT! Really, DON'T READ THE BLURB ON AMAZON if you haven't read the other books first.

Book signing attire

You looked drop dead fantastic!
Here is what I remember of the book signing:

Gail was signing my book and asked whom to make it out to. She was looking down, pen poised.
Me: Suzi....Smith.
Gail pauses and, without looking up asks, "Are you on-line?".

I was SO busted! :D
It was a real treat meeting you and Blake.

Re: Book signing attire

Awe, thank you! And thank you so much for coming. It's a treat to have friendly faces in the audience even if I've never met them in real life before. Blake is a hoot, isn't he?
Looking forward to the podcast! Rick does great interviews and the panel's usually a blast.
