Packing For LA And Other Crisis Of Fashion And Organization

Packing is so exciting, but darlings, it takes me yonks! My goodness, you'd think I was planning a small invasion of a fashionable country ~ probably one whose main export is hats. The devil is in the stilettos, it's a careful balance of which ones are worn when and in what order (simply can't have the same two in a row for blister reasons) and making certain I have matching flats to back each set up. Nevertheless, after much hemming and hawing, close examination of the parties and events on offer at RT plus consultation with the extended weather forecast for next week, we have arrived at a decision!

The accessories, backup dresses, necessities, and shoes going into the case.

I have chosen my outfits for RT, LitOrange, and the tea. I am very excited! In case you want to spot me here are the dresses I will be wearing.

For Wednesday, Thursday, and (if I go) Friday

For Lit Orange on Sunday

And for the Tea!

I'm also considering starting up a new blog, probably via BlogSpot because it can handle more than one blog at once, that is just retro fashion, pictures of my inspiration, my shopping loot, and me in the outfits at various events. Right now it's very complex handling the balance in this one blog alone. In the second half of this year, when I have a little bit more time, creating a new fashion-only blog might actually, ironically, save me time and organization. What do you think? One possible title: Professionally Retro: Vintage Style with Gail Carriger. Or Something. Other witty title ideas?

So where can I stalk ... er meet you this weekend?
*next* weekend. I'm only packing now because I'm doing the trip down in stages. And I'll be at RT, Lit Orange, and the Tea. You can see my schedule here: http://www.gailcarriger.com/presskit.php
The second blog sounds like a good idea - I always like your fashion posts, they're inspirational.
good heavens, that's a lot of shoes!
Oh lovely shoes (is that champagne I see as well?) I love the idea of a blog just for fashion. :D
That is indeed champagne. I believe in traveling, when possible, with champagne. There is also a bottle of my favorite white wine (I'm usually a red wine drinker but I love this stuff) for gift purposes.
Travelling with champagne is a brilliant idea!
Ooooohh, today's parasol is the loveliest I've ever seen!

I'm happy with you doing a second fashion blog and I shall subscribe, especially if you do secondhand shopping and simple alterations tips!
Lovely dresses and shoes, all! And yes please on the fashion blog! I always look forward to your insight on dressing vintage! I love the link to Jason Wu's collection the other day- gorgeous!

Have a lovely time down south!
I've tried several different journal options, and I've found Blogger to be the most versatile. I retreated from it for quite a while due to the lack of a "friendship" like system.

WordPress seems nice, but the fact that they want to charge you an unreasonable amount for what should be basic features (like custom skinning) is aggravating. I've also tried LiveJournal (and nearly all of it's clones), Xanga, MySpace, OpenDiary, Digital Expressions, and several other options. What I've concluded, unfortunately, is that NONE of them are perfect. >.>

I do, however, prefer Blogger for now. Your following will likely be large enough that you can do custom advertising through Google AdSense or Amazon and even make a little extra revenue from your loyal followers.
Ah, where to begin!? Lovely parasol! Shoes, glorious shoes! Gorgeous outfits, all!

I'd follow your fashion blog; I find your fashion posts very interesting (even though I'm a guy and not apt to be sporting stilettos anytime soon...). :-)

Enjoy your trip! I've recruited another to the Parasol Protectorate: My mum has become an avid fan!

Fashion blog

I would love a fashion blog from you,as I have absolutely no sense of personal style and yours is so sophisticated and "put together." How about "Dressing for Success Tomorrow with Yesterday's Styles."
